6.28: It’s been a busy day for the Manchester United players who have been out with injury.
There are rumours of Wayne Rooney out for up to two months and Ashley Young could miss up to six months.
So the question is why have they been absent?
In fact, it’s probably not that different from the days of Jose Mourinho who has had to replace players on the pitch every three weeks or so, even if he doesn’t have to make the same decisions.
But it’s worth remembering that the team’s record at home against Everton and Manchester City is just one of many positives to come out of the game at Old Trafford this week.
United have lost just twice on the road this season and in those games, they have beaten the Premier League leaders twice.
It has helped that Mourinho has gone with the 4-4-2 formation that he used to lead the team back to the Premier Leagues summit three years ago.
Manchester United have also picked up four points from their last four Premier League games.
And with a home defeat to Everton this afternoon, it appears that the team has to get back on the right foot and be more assertive than it has been this season.
What to watch: What will happen when the teams meet in the Champions League?
On paper, Manchester United are the favourites to win the tournament, but they are currently without the services of Victor Valdes and Antonio Valencia.
They also lack the firepower of Michael Carrick and are without the talismanic midfield duo of Jose Mourinho and David de Gea.
In order to get the job done, United have to be more aggressive in the air and have to deal with a more dangerous Manchester City side who have scored four times and conceded only once in their last five matches.
If United can put the pressure on and start the game in a way that makes them look dangerous, they could get away with having to play a lot of man-marking football.
Prediction: The visitors are the better side, so they will need to dominate the ball, but United need to get a result against a side that has a reputation for getting away with bad defending.
Chelsea have a much better record against Manchester United than Everton and have also lost only once at Old Vic.
On the other hand, United are unbeaten in their previous six Premier League encounters against Chelsea, so there is a good chance that they will have to put up a fight.
How to watch Manchester United: United will be hoping that they can replicate their success against Everton in their next fixture.
The Old Trafford derby is an important game that the club will want to avoid, so United have to be ready to win.
David De Gea has scored in all three of his Premier League appearances for United against Everton.
Antony Silva has also been involved in all four of United’s Premier League tournaments against the Blues in a row and has also scored against them in all but one of the previous five.
A win against Everton would be an important step forward for Mourinho’s side as it would show the club that they can still be competitive against top-class opponents, but it would be the perfect opportunity for them to step up their game and start to build on their impressive start to the season.
How to read the match: Manchester City will have the better of the opening 45 minutes as they are favourites to score first.
That means they need to be aggressive and play a quick game as they have been in their two previous meetings against the Blues.
However, they should also be cautious as they have only lost once to Manchester United in the league and two of those losses were to sides who are not the favourites.
After the break, United should be more organised and assertive as their attack is the more dangerous so United will need to look to take advantage of that.

Manchester City is the Premier league champions, having won all four trophies they have achieved so far.
While United have not been to the Champions League, they are a top-four side that has not been relegated in their history and also have the best home record in the Premier League so they will likely be favourites to win this game.
